Chandas analyzes your composition on your device. The website and Android app do not send composition text to a Chandas server. Synonym lookup also uses bundled offline indexes; the current word and selected suggestion never become dictionary-service requests. English stress and rhyme analysis use static pronunciation packs that are downloaded only after English is selected; no word or poem is sent as a pronunciation or rhyme query.

Local saved poems and recovery

Your compositions, per-stanza meter selections, templates, private custom forms learned from your writing, interface language, and editor position are stored in private application or browser storage on your device. New saves the current work and opens a clean slate; Saved poems lets you reopen, rename, copy, or delete local work. Clearing browser or app data can remove every local poem.

Save all to .txt makes a readable text collection and passes it only to a destination you choose. Full backup makes a portable JSON copy that can restore complete editor state and custom forms. Both files contain plain-text private writing, so protect them accordingly. Restore merges safely: a differing poem with the same identifier is kept as a separate copy instead of overwriting work.

Sharing

Sharing happens only when you initiate it. Text is passed to your operating system, browser, or chosen social destination, whose own privacy policy then applies.

Anonymous website counts

On the production website only, Chandas uses GoatCounter for aggregate page and writing-script counts. After at least three supported syllables have been present and typing pauses briefly, Chandas may count that the editing session used Kannada, Telugu, Gujarati, Devanagari, English stress mode, or more than one supported script. It never sends the composition, selected meter, draft identifier, syllable count, or editor position.

Shared-analysis links can contain composition text in their query string. Chandas removes every query string from the page path sent to GoatCounter and suppresses the referrer on its counting requests. Script-use events are sent at most once per category per loaded editing session. GoatCounter receives the ordinary network request, but stores aggregate statistics without cookies, browser identifiers, raw IP addresses, or full user-agent strings. Counts may be absent when Chandas is offline or analytics is blocked.

Website analytics do not run on localhost, GitHub Pages previews, or in the Android application.

No Chandas cloud account

Chandas has no poem server, hosted database, Google login, Drive API, or composition-content telemetry. It does not upload or synchronize saved poems. A file leaves Chandas only when you explicitly share, download, or export it to a destination you choose.
